A Chinese smartphone-maker UMI has launched it’s flagship smartphone, the UMI X2 in India for Rs.14,000 and if the specifications are anything to go by, this is one smartphone you could have never imagined at such a low price.
So here it goes, the UMI X2 comes with a 5-inch Full-HD IPS display having a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MTK6589 quad-core processor clocking at 1.2GHz, which is the same you would find inside the Micromax Canvas HD, but the UMI X2 pairs the processor with 2GB of RAM and PowerVR SGX544 GPU, unlike the Canvas HD, which comes with just 1GB of RAM. The UMI X2 runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out-of-the box and the company promises an update to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean by April 2013. The smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage along with a micro-SD card slot, to further expand the storage by up to 32GB. The UMI X2 sports dual-SIM card slots and houses a 13 megapixel camera with flash at the back, along with a 3.0 megapixel front-facing camera. Phew! Seems too good to be true, doesn’t it?
The smartphone gets all the standard connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and also packs-in a 2,500mAh battery. The company says that the smartphone would be released between March 15-20.
